Department of Mathematics

Undergraduate Program

The undergraduate math program offers a rigorous and flexible curriculum that equips students with the tools to succeed in various fields. The program features a range of challenging courses, allowing students to pursue their interests while receiving a solid foundation in mathematical concepts.

Students in the department have the opportunity to learn from leading experts in the field while engaging with a diverse community of peers who share an enthusiasm for mathematics.

Mathematics concentrators at Brown can explore concepts through the department's broad course offerings and flexible concentration requirements. The concentration leads to either the Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree (the latter is strongly recommended for students interested in pursuing graduate study in mathematics or related fields).
